Cherokee Identity
The use of the term "wanna be" is wielded by some Cherokee people now the way Americans use the n word describing African Americans. It's use is meant to be disrespectful and hurtful. This behavior goes againt the teachings given to us by the creator, no not the Dawes Commision, but Unetlvnvhi, the one who provided everything.

ReplyDeleteThat is pretty deep, and it's not just Cherokee you hear throwing "wannabe" or even "Pretindian" around, I've heard other native peoples throw it around, too. The Natchez (the people I associate or ally with, I might be Natchez which I feel that I am in spirit and at heart, but I am unsure if I am by blood) have a goal of bringing everyone together.
When the Natchez pray or make medicine, it is for all people on the Earth, not just the Natchez.
